§ Become a Friend

5 min read

Be part of a federation
without joining it.

Friends keep the federation working without becoming Labs themselves. Half of every contribution goes to the Labs, distributed by overnight stays. The other half keeps the federation working. Five tiers, plus whatever you decide.

The federation is small. It will stay small for a long time. Most people who care about regenerative work, conscious leadership, or land-based cooperatives will never live at a Lab. They have their own lives, their own work, their own land or city. Friendship is the relationship between those people and this federation.

Becoming a Friend is not a transaction. It is a way to keep the work going, and to stay close enough to see what is actually happening. You receive what we publish. You can come and stay at a Lab. At higher tiers, you can sit in on Council and watch how decisions are made.

A Friend is someone who wants to be part of a federation without joining it.

Every Friend contribution is split in half. Fifty percent goes to the federation, which keeps the tools running, the charter alive, the Council meeting. Fifty percent goes to the Labs themselves, distributed by the overnight stays they host that year. This way, the more a Lab welcomes Friends, the more the Lab is supported.

§ 02, Where your contribution goes

Half of every contribution
reaches the land.

Each Friend contribution is split in half, by design.

50%

To the federation

Tools, Council, charter, research framework. The infrastructure that no single Lab would build alone.

50%

To the Labs

Distributed by overnight stays each Lab hosts that year. The Labs that welcome Friends most receive most.

The split is structural. It is written into the federation's bookkeeping, not promised. If a Lab hosts no Friends in a given year, it receives no Friends contribution. If a Lab hosts many, the share is larger. The mechanism rewards openness without forcing it.

§ 03, Five tiers, plus open

From seed to forest.

Each tier inherits everything from the tiers below it. The growth is real, not metaphorical.

Tier I

SeedYou plant something.

For people who want to keep up with what the federation is building.

  • You plant something. Every quarter, you receive a report written from the land: what is growing, what we are learning, what was hard. Your name goes in the annual record. You can attend an assembly as an observer and see how we actually make decisions.

Per year

120

or €10 / month

Tier II

SoilYou feed what is growing.

For people who want to come and see at least once a year.

  • You feed what is growing. Everything in Seed, plus once a year you join a call with people from the community. Not a presentation. A conversation. Early access to events and workshops before they are announced publicly.

Per year

300

or €25 / month

Tier III

RootYou hold the structure.

For those who want to spend real time at the Labs.

  • You hold the structure. Everything in Soil, plus three nights in the tipi on the land. You wake up inside the food forest. You walk the projects with someone who built them. You eat a meal at a table with the people who live here. And 10% off any workshop you attend.

Per year

750

or €62.50 / month

Tier IV

CanopyYou give others shade.

For those who want to see how a federation actually works, from inside.

  • You give others shade. Everything in Root, but six nights instead of three. One workshop of your choice, free. Your name and a short line about who you are on the supporters page, because people who make this possible deserve to be visible.

Per year

1,500

or €125 / month

Tier V

ForestYou are the ecosystem.

For those whose support carries the federation across years.

  • You are the ecosystem. Everything in Canopy, but seven nights for two people. Two free workshops. Four calls a year, not just one. And a tree planted on the land in your name. In ten years, that tree will be producing food and holding water and providing shade for someone who doesn't know your name but benefits from what you did.

Per year

3,000

or €250 / month

Open contribution

OpenWhatever fits.

For one-time gifts, large gifts, or contributions that do not fit a tier.

  • Whatever amount you choose, one-time or annual.
  • The federation lets you know what your contribution made possible: an extra week of support at a Lab, a research day, the translation of a document.
  • The 50/50 split applies to your contribution like every other.

Your amount

Open

One-time or annual

Write to the federation
  • 01Overnight stays are not holidays. The Lab decides when there is room, in what form, for whom. A Friend cannot book a date of their choice. It is staying with the work, not buying lodging.
  • 02Council observer access is silent. No vote, no interjection, no follow-up correspondence. You pay to see how something works, not to participate in it.
  • 03Tiers are annual. No lifetime benefits, no accumulating history. Whoever stays is a Friend. Whoever stops has been a friend of the federation.

§ 05, Becoming a Friend

Pick a tier, or write to us.

Most Friends start with Seed or Soil and stay there. Some grow. A few begin at Forest because they have been close to this work for a long time. There is no right way in.

If you want to talk before deciding, write. The federation will respond within a week. If you want to start straightaway, click a tier above and Stripe will guide you through.
