Who we are
Sulitânia Cooperativa, NIF 518771571, is a cooperative registered in Portugal. We operate the website at syntrociety.org.
Contact: Rua da Cooperativa, Portugal.
What data we collect
We collect the minimum data necessary to operate our website and services:
- Payment data: When you become a Friend of Sulitânia, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers. Stripe acts as an independent data controller for payment data. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Contact data: When you fill in our contact form, we send your name, email address, message, and chosen category through Resend (our email provider) to our inbox. We use this information only to reply to you. It is not stored in a database.
- Analytics data: We use Plausible Analytics (hosted in the EU, no cookies) and Vercel Analytics for aggregated, privacy-friendly page statistics. Data is not used for advertising.
- Language preference: We store your language choice in a cookie to remember it across visits.
Cookies
We use one essential first-party cookie for language, two functional cookies for the first-visit welcome banner, three functional cookies for the optional guided tour, and one piece of local browser storage for the splash page. Site usage is measured with Plausible and Vercel without tracking cookies.
- NEXT_LOCALE (essential): Stores your language preference. Expires after 1 year.
- Plausible and Vercel Analytics: Aggregated page views and performance metrics. No advertising cookies.
- syntrociety-splash-seen (functional, localStorage): Remembers that you have seen the welcome page when you tick "Don't show again". Expires after 30 days. You can clear it through your browser settings, or reload the welcome page with ?reset.
- welcome_seen (functional): Remembers that you have closed the first-visit welcome banner or picked a role from it, so the banner does not reappear on every page load. Set when you close the banner or pick a role. Expires after 1 year. SameSite=Lax.
- user_role (functional): Remembers which role you picked from the welcome banner (researcher, citizen, lab, entrepreneur, or mayor) so future personalised flows (in development) can refer back to it. Set only when you pick a role. Expires after 1 year. SameSite=Lax.
- tour_active (functional): Marks that you have accepted a guided tour. Set when you click "Yes, start the tour" on the perspective page; cleared when you click "Exit tour" or finish the last step. Expires after 1 year. SameSite=Lax.
- tour_step (functional): Records which step of the tour you are on (1 to 5). Set when you accept the tour; updated as you click "Next". Cleared when you exit or finish. Expires after 1 year. SameSite=Lax.
- tour_offered (functional): Records that you have either accepted or declined the tour offer, so it does not reappear on every visit. Set on accept or decline. Expires after 1 year. SameSite=Lax.
See this section for details. Use your browser settings to remove cookies and local storage.
