Federation work touches every layer of the ecosystem differently. What becomes visible from an administrator's perspective is not what a researcher reads, or what a Lab resident does daily. Pick where you stand, or read on at your own pace.

Federation work happens because this kind of work needs to be done. That it touches what administrators, Labs, entrepreneurs, citizens and researchers care about in different ways is consequence, not goal.
Anyone who comes here to get something usually does not find what they look for. Anyone who comes to see whether something resonates with what they themselves carry sees, on its own, where the work meets their own work.
With that caveat: pick above the perspective closest to where you stand.

What federation work opens for local entrepreneurs.
For local contractors, tradespeople, suppliers, and sector partners in regions where federation work stands or could stand.
What a Lab buys
Work and supplies, the whole year round
A of sixteen to thirty people purchases structurally from local entrepreneurs: building materials, food, tools, services, transport. That is not a tourist-season peak, but demand that moves every month. In sparsely populated regions where entrepreneurs depend on summer seasons, that brings stability.
The Lab regularly hires tradespeople for specific work: contractors, carpenters, masons, electricians, tilers, gardeners, water specialists. No fixed jobs, but a steady customer for those doing piece work. Sulitânia has hired ten to fifteen Portuguese tradespeople multiple times in recent years.
What cooperation can yield
Access to grants and international networks
Federation work fits within European funds for regenerative economy and territorial development: Algarve 2030, Horizon Europe, INTERREG. When a local entrepreneur prepares an application where a partner makes the difference, federation can take that role. Applications that stand weaker without such a partner become stronger.
For sector partners, cooperative banks, agrarian businesses, social-economy organisations, federation opens the way to international networks that are otherwise hard to reach: Cooperatives Europe, ENoLL, regenerative-movement platforms in Europe.
Honest limit
What it is not
A Lab is not a large customer. The volumes are reliable but modest. Anyone hoping for big contracts will not find federation as the main client.
Federation does not itself sell products or services to entrepreneurs. What it brings is network and cooperation, not a trading relationship in the classical sense.
